Omega Speedmaster Anniversary Series – Silver Snoopy Award
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of OMEGA’s “Silver Snoopy Award,” this timepiece honors the prestigious recognition received from NASA astronauts in 1970 for the brand’s vital role in space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.
The 42 mm stainless steel case is paired with a blue nylon fabric strap, which features an embossed lining depicting the trajectory of the Apollo 13 mission. The silver dial is accented with blue PVD hour markers and hands, and showcases an embossed silver Snoopy medallion on the blue subdial at the 9 o’clock position.
On the NAIAD LOCK caseback, a detailed image of the moon’s far side is displayed using micro-structured metallisation on the sapphire crystal. An animated Snoopy, in his Command and Service Module (CSM), rotates when the chronograph is activated, while a rotating Earth disc mirrors the small seconds hand, completing one rotation every minute.
The caseback also features black engravings commemorating Apollo 13 and the Silver Snoopy Award, as well as a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring with a white enamel tachymeter scale. Powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, this timepiece is presented in a special edition box, making it a true collector’s piece.
